Aging: 18-22 months in new oak barrels and 8-12 months in a bottle.
The Fontalloro wine is the most famous expression of the Sangiovese variety from the winery of Fessina.
Fontalloro consists of vineyards that are divided by a boundary between Chianti Classico and Chianti Collie Senesi. The part that is located in Chianti Classico is in the highest area of Felsina, and that in Chianti Collie Senesi is lower (407-330 meters above sea level). Thanks to this arrangement and diverse soils, the wine turns out to be powerful and outstanding.
The first vintage in 1983.
Fèlsina concluded, on 7 March 2015, its conversion period to organic agriculture, as certified by ICEA.
