Saperavi is perhaps the most famous Georgian variety in the world. In Georgia, no red grape variety can compare with Saperavi in terms of distribution, and, like Rkatsiteli, it is found in many regions other than Kakheti, for example, the famous Rachuli Saperavi. Saperavs are grown throughout Kakhet. Saperavi from different regions are quite different from each other, but it is always easy to recognize due to its unforgettable taste and aroma. Wine from Saperavi is often aged in qvevra, but classical wines from Saperavi are known, including those aged in oak barrels. Famous wines are made from Saperavi, which are produced in the areas of the same name - Mukuzani, Napareul, Akhasheni, Kindzmaraule, Kvareli.
